When his vow became viral, this seriously got him into problems. He received harsh criticism from Nigerians, who also brought up how poorly he had persuaded people to support Mohammadu Buhari, the country’s current president.

The Enugu Catholic Authority saw this medium as a crucial opportunity to safeguard the cleric from Nigerians and gave him a temporary suspension, which forced Mbaka to publicly apologize to Peter Obi for his actions.

The Enugu Catholic Church Authority, however, shockingly upheld his suspension and imposed a heavy punishment.

The cleric has apparently been relocated to the monastery, where he won’t be allowed to approve of his ministry, from his position as spiritual director of the Enugu State Catholic Adoration ministry, according to a number of sources.

He was promptly removed by a new priest, as is customary within the Catholic Church’s institutional framework.

His supporters protested in force and voiced their displeasure with the outcome, as was to be expected.

They first criticized the first Priest and promised him with the assurance that they didn’t require him to publicly state that Mbaka founded the ministry. In addition, they vowed that it was unjust to see another priest profit from what the well-liked cleric had endured pain for.

A demonstrator was overheard saying,

“This will lead to anarchy. It’s unthinkable that this kind of harsh decision could be made. We the adorers will never accept any other priest.”

“Fr. Mbaka suffered and built that place with sole effort. Now they have tactically hijacked the place through the backyard. Let’s see how they will succeed.”

In a now-viral video, the demonstrators can be seen in the comfort of the well-liked cleric expressing their anguish and anger while yelling, “We say no!”
